Description

Touchwood Glasgow is pleased to offer a fully immersive visiting, mobile, travelling green wood carving workshop to community groups, organisations, and businesses throughout Central Scotland. This is a full-day travelling workshop designed specifically for groups of up to 10 people, where we bring everything to you - our tools and equipment, materials, expert knowledge, and our positive creative energy. The visiting workshop is especially suited to communities and businesses who would benefit from a truly hands-on heritage craft experience. Our workshops foster team-building, therapy through craft, connection to trees and natural resources, dexterity and skill development, and sustainability practices for a sustainable future. Our travelling workshop is only bookable provided that your group, organisation, or business can accommodate the workshop - a suitable space to run the event is essential. A suitable space might be a large outdoor communal area, a barn, a community hall, a large utility room, etc, have access to toilet facilities, and ideally provide shelter from the elements. Any booking made would need to meet these basic criteria before we would accept the request. Our workshops can be tailored to your individual needs on request, and we are happy to offer our workshop events to corporate groups in liaison with their appointed wellbeing officer. This is a very nature-based heritage craft using traditional hand tools and equipment. We aim to connect participants to nature and to each other in a practical way through carving together as group using materials from our local bio-region.
