In-person four-week evening course, Falkirk, Scotland. Tutor: Una Galbraith. Dates: Wednesdays, 6.30pm-9pm, starting on 14th January 2026 for four weeks. The final class will be on 4 February. Price: £175 (includes tuition, use of tools and kiln, all materials for week 1, clear glass for weeks 2-4, and tea/coffee/snacks). Please note that you will need to buy more glass for the projects you choose to create in weeks 2-4, which Una will help you with. Suitable for adults and aged 16+. Beginners and improvers welcome. Discover the captivating art of warm glass fusing in evening course with Una Galbraith. Learn the essential techniques of cutting, layering, fusing and slumping glass to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. You’ll explore the properties of glass, experiment with colour and texture, learn how to cut glass, and you’ll complete several projects, learning new techniques each week to incorporate into your own designs and projects. Over the four weeks, you’ll create several smaller pieces to experiment with the new techniques you’ve been shown, and a couple of larger pieces that can be kept as glass panels for hanging on the wall or slumped into a free-standing shape including curves, waves or candle-holders. Here’s an outline of what you can expect in the four weeks: Week 1: – Introduction and health and safety. – Introduction to frit/stringers/Glassline. – Design and create magnet or drink stirrer, and small panel. Week 2: – Show and tell of last week’s work. – Introduction to coldworking, including grinder and diamond pads. Coldworking last week’s work. – Introduction to powders and reactions, creating small-medium powder piece. Week 3: – Show and tell of last week’s work. – Coldworking last week’s work. – Introduction to kiln fibre paper to create reliefs. – Designing and creating your first bigger piece (can be slumped). Week 4: – Show and tell of last week’s work. – Coldworking last week’s work. – Designing and creating your second bigger piece (can be slumped). Perfect for anyone curious about glass art, this course promises a fun and inspiring experience. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where, not only will you develop your warm glass skills, you’ll have an enjoyable time. This course is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced fusers. If you’ve been to Una’s introduction to glass fusing workshop, this will be the perfect next step in your warm glass journey.
