Exploring Scandinavian Wool Fibres with Spinning and Weaving

X

Description

In this lovely, relaxing one-day course, you will learn how to work with a selection of Scandinavian Breed wools. Working with textile artist, Penny, you will identify some different wools and other fibres. Then you will be taught how to make a ball of wool using a traditional drop spindle. You will then be able to use an easy, small vintage wooden weaving loom to create a small mat or wall hanging. During the day you will also be shown how to clean and card the wool. Use your new 'art yarn' fibre that you have just spun, or a selection of lovely commercial wools on a shuttle to create your piece!
