Coracle Building Workshop in The Shropshire Hills - 2 Day
Description
Work together or as a personal project, learn skills and explore this fantastic traditional craft and paddle sport. You will be guided through the construction while you work to craft your coracle. After refining and testing it you will have the chance to test out your craft on the water. We know you’ll have so much fun throughout the 2 days. With a the perfect mix of making and paddling there’s something for everyone. The 2 day workshop allows you the time to produce a high quality, strong coracle to take home and paddle again. The cost covers 1 coracle build for up to 4 people. This workshop is great for all ages and can be tailored to individual and group needs. For larger groups or to construct a coracle per person please make multiple bookings. I do my very best to keep all my listings up to date with availability. Unfortunately, at busy periods there can be a delay so if there is a specific date you need, please feel free to check before booking to avoid disappointment. To spread the cost of bookings why not consider paying with PayPal which allows you to pay in instalments. All the crafting fun without the stress.
What's included in the price?
All your materials and tools for the day are provided. Please bring your own packed lunch. If you wish to test your coracle on water you will need to transport yourselves to the water. Maker
Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely a 2 way street!

I only take individual bookings so there will only be the people you choose to book for! This means I can make sure the workshop is exactly what individuals and groups want and everyone gets more out of it.
I normally start at 0930hrs but as I only take individual bookings I can be flexible with timings (subject to availability) to suit you.
No need to bring anything with you for your course or workshop unless you want to bring examples or inspiration ... but there are plenty of both here in the studio (surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire Hills) so you can just bring your lovely self!
There is a cute retro caravan that sleeps 1-2 people available onsite (The Old School Campsite) free of charge for 'one to one' bookings (subject to availability). There are also glamping bell tents in the summer and camping pitches available onsite. If camping isn't for you (!) there are lovely holiday cottages at 'Shelve Holidays' or a luxury cabin at 'Heather and Stone'.
