Coffee, Cake, ‘n’ Craft – Mini Felt Bag in New Romney, Kent
Description
This hands-on felt-making workshop focuses on creating a small felt bag using traditional wet felting techniques. You will learn how wool fibres are layered, bonded and shaped by hand to form a sturdy fabric, resulting in a finished bag that is both practical and characterful. During the session, you will be guided through each stage of the wet felting process, from laying out coloured wool fibres to using water and soap to felt them together. As the fabric begins to take shape, you will work on forming and refining your bag. Once the base is complete, you will have the option to add decorative details such as simple patterns or textured embellishments to personalise your design. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who have some previous experience with felting. With small group sizes, there is plenty of individual guidance and time to work at a comfortable pace. Held as part of our Coffee, Cake, ’n’ Craft series, the session offers a relaxed and sociable environment where you can enjoy learning a traditional craft without pressure.
