Description
10am-12noon on Saturday 24th & 31st January 2026 @The Pavilion, Penn Street HP7 0PX We began running these relaxed yet informative workshops at the start of the year in response to repeated requests for a short course covering the basics of sewing and getting to know your sewing machine. The demand has been incredible, with each session selling out, which is fab! After years of receiving similar requests, we teamed up with the wonderful Sam Slator from The Sewing Loft in Chesham to develop the ideal introductory course. In this 2-week basic sewing course Sam will be demonstrating and teaching a number of simple sewing techniques that will be super useful for all of your future projects. The course will cover (but not necessarily in this order!): - Threading your sewing machine. - Winding bobbins. - Sewing machine feet and their uses. - Using different stitches on machine. - Button holes. - Seams. - Basic equipment and tools. Sam will also be available to answer all of your burning questions, like “what is the purpose of all these different feet?” or "how can I sew in a straight line?"!! What do you need to bring? - Ideally please bring your own sewing machine (if this is a problem please contact us via the 'message the tutor' button and we can supply one subject to how many people need one - first come first served!) - A basic sewing kit containing thread, scissors and pins. We will supply all other materials and will be in touch once you have booked your class to discuss your machine and to make sure you have everything you need.
