"Excellent course. Jo, the tutor, was great at sharing her knowledge and experience but also at letting us get on with it independently. We were able to work at our own speeds with help from Jo when we needed it. Lovely results. I’m proud of my stained glass window and really enjoyed the process. Stanwick lakes was a great location and the staff at the Lakes were all friendly and very helpful. I would recommend the course and the location. Thank you."

She was always on hand to give tips and helpful comments. There was a wide choice of patterns and glass to use and it was lovely to come away with a finished piece. "I really enjoyed the course. Jo is clearly very experienced in both knowledge and practice. She offered constant encouragement and suggestions for improvement. I'm a person who likes to ask questions to understand why things are done in a particular way and Jo answered them all! The barn was a lovely space. Plenty of tools and equipment and lots of choice of designs and glass. I made one piece during the day. This was my first time working with glass. I could possibly of made two pieces but wanted to practice the cutting until I was fully confident. Stanwick Lakes is a lovely venue - easy to find, lots of parking, a cafe and clean toilets! Thank you Jo."

"It was a great course - lovely, helpful, knowledgeable tutor, and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely pre-order lunch at the cafe if you can. Food was great when we got it, but lunch break had to be extended from 30 mins to 50 mins because we hadn't pre-ordered, and that put time-pressure on us at the end of the day."

"A lovely day in the barn at stanwick, really cosy with the log burner going. Jane was kind and very patient teaching us how to make a basket. It was a lot harder than I imagined but I was pleased to see the finished product at the end of the day. Not so pleased with the blistered fingers! Great day thanks."

"This course was a Christmas gift from my daughters and my partner. As I am a retired "DIY-er", they thought it would appeal. I have to say they were absolutely spot on. From first introductions with the tutor and the other course members, the whole day was very enjoyable. We laughed when it was appropriate but I felt secure in "bashing the metal" as safety was always the primary focus. The tutor made his examples look quick and easy (expected) but my work took longer (never done it before so also expected). At no time was this an issue - patient explanation of the whys and wherefores helped throughout the day. I would highly recommend this as an experience to savour and enjoy. My only criticism - the leaky electric kettle. I think it would be a good idea to furnish the forge with a new one. "

"Great course, John was an excellent teacher and the small group of 4 meant we all got all the help needed. There was good choice with design and we learnt some new and interesting skills. Good facilities on site as well, would really recommend this is if you’re looking to try woodwork and haven’t done any before. "

"Welcomed by tutor and time spent talking through options. Steps shown and guidance given. Able to work at own pace and to use our own ideas. Advice available at all times. Health and safety PPE available. Booking team did not inform attendees to book in and register numberplate. Tutor unsure when items jade would be ready for collection, as this was a Christmas craft perhaps a date late November would be better. Waiting now to be contacted when item ready but unsure who or how we are being contacted. Overall a good course and would attend another glass workshop."
