"This was a truly incredible day! I cannot recommend it more highly. 5 family members, 2 complete novices and 3 of us who have done the Traditional Stained Glass Workshop before. We have each come away with something we are immensely proud of and completely individual. Kate is such an incredible tutor, sharing her knowledge and skills and lending a guiding hand. I have attended 1 workshop in my wheelchair and 1 in my prothesis and Martin and Kate considered all my needs and it's nice to not feel like a burden and be able to participate fully. Having done 2 courses here I can absolutely assure you there is no wrong choice, you'll come away happy with your creation. "

"Our class was at the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet which was a lovely studio. The whole day was a great experience and very enjoyable. There was good, clear instruction from Kate, with further support where needed. We were amazed with the tea light holders everyone produced. A brilliant day. "

"Really enjoyed the course, Kate was fantastic, easy to understand instructions and plenty of help as needed. Small group size meant that everyone was fully supported. The venue is easy to find with good parking and lovely cafe. Would definitely recommend, worth every penny!"

"I think I've found my new love! I was looking to add another dimension to my stained glass work - and I am now a convert. Martin is, as always, concise and informative - taking you in small steps through the processes of painting lines, curves and experimenting with textures before moving on to the removal technique. Everyone had the chance to make several pieces during the day, and the opportunity to either use the templates and ideas provided or to use your own. No prior experience of working with glass is needed - and I would definitely not call myself a painter, but I am delighted with the pieces I made. Also a great recommendation for lunch from the cafe next door!"

"We had a fantastic day at the fused glass workshop which I attended with my husband. Without any fuss, Martin very kindly let us change the course we’d been booked on as the original date subsequently clashed with a family event. The day was absolutely brilliant - I came away enthused and wanting to make more fused glass items (& I am not at all artistic!). Martin is an excellent teacher, demonstrating and explaining techniques before encouraging practice and checking each individual had grasped the skill. He gave individual advice and tips to improve technique where needed. Martin has a lovely manner and answered questions throughout the day. He encouraged attendees to produce both the stated pieces and additional items, offering advice and expertise about what might work well without stifling people’s creativity. Martin has lots of examples of what is possible to create using different techniques and resources and he’s very encouraging if you have your own design ideas as he advises attendees to look at various websites prior to attending the workshop. Martin has a great choice of materials and colours to work with. I particularly liked being able to select different sized glass to work on. As the day drew to a close, Martin explained simply how each piece would be fired and why to each attendee. The finished products were available for collection or posting in just a couple of weeks. They were well packaged and intact on collection. We would highly recommend this fun day at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet which has a lovely cafe with great food too. "

"Fabulous day - thank you! Kate was a great tutor - she kept the pace of the course flowing and also gave everyone enough time to make a wonderful collection of flowers. "This was an absolutely wonderful workshop and I loved it. The day was well structured with all tools and equipment to hand on individual work benches. Martin is a fantastic teacher who explained and demonstrated the techniques very clearly, and was on hand to give one-to-one help (which I needed a lot of). He was very encouraging and patient, and made us all feel we were doing well on our projects. As I’d never done anything like this before, I was very pleased to finish the day with a beautiful piece of stained glass. I would highly recommend this workshop."

"I went on this course, which was a birthday present for one of my daughters. She, being artistic, made some fabulous flowers. Me, being totally unartistic, managed to make some flowers which I have not thrown away! This is a miracle, as normally anything like this would be straight in the bin. But with Kate's help I actually managed to produce something nice. How she did it, I do not know, but it shows how even the most hopeless person can have a great time, have lots of fun, thoroughly enjoy themselves and come away with something worthwhile. Thanks a bundle Kate."
