Our quality goldwork boards are hand crafted at our Lakeland studio. ***Please note - You will need to let us know which colour you require by using the message facility at the time of order*** COLOURS AVAILABLE: Teal Berry Slate Grey We use high quality upholstery grade velvet for the dark surface and a finer 100% cotton needlecord velvet for the lighter side. Whilst constructed specially for goldwork, these also make excellent beading boards and jewellery mats. The goldwork board is approx A5 in size and will be supplied with a resealable wallet to keep it clean and protected. Precious chips of goldwork Check thread and beads are prevented from rolling around by the nap of the velvet which also provides a soft cutting surface to protect the wires as they are cut. Having a dark and light side allows the embroiderer or beader to easily see objects no matter what their colour. For those working embroideries on large frames, the lighter side will sit on the fabric of the piece without causing damage and the gentle ridges formed by the velvet cord act to stop it sliding around. A delicate soft braid edge finishes the board but does not sit up over the edge to avoid tiny chips or beads getting stuck. The interior of the goldwork board is a high grade sturdy mount board. Cleaning the board should only be carried out using a soft damp cloth. We aim to photograph colours as true as possible but remember that colours can render differently on screens.

Carefully hand crafted from highest quality board and upholstery grade velvet in shades of Teal, Berry or Slate Gray. each board has an ivory needlecord backing. The edged have a hand stitch trim which sits below the profile of the board to avoid tiny chips or beads getting stuck int he edge. Each board is presented in a clear wallet with popper closure to keep it clean and protected.

Maureen is a master hand embroiderer with over 25 years experience. Skills handed down from Irish ancestors have been honed with training from world class embroidery schools. Small courses and workshops are often held in her native Cumbria and the hand embroidery courses can be studied via distance learning or online.
