Description

We are so pleased to be able to offer this workshop. Zoë Duncan is a brilliant local artist who is especially well known for her detailed watercolour paintings of birds and flowers and we both feel very grateful that she has agreed to run classes in both for us this Summer. Robins are surely the most well-known of all British garden birds, with their striking colour and distinctive chirp! In this 2-and-a-half-hour class you will learn to capture the essence of this little bird, often associated as a symbol of the presence of loved ones and always a perennial favourite in our gardens. Zoë will share her experience and show you how to perfectly capture the vibrant red of the robin’s breast against its softer underbelly feathers through the use of carefully considered brush strokes and blending colour techniques which will bring your little enchanted creature to life! Let your creativity soar as you pay homage to this beloved garden bird, a symbol of joy and hope in the natural world. Zoë trained at the City and Guilds London Art School, studying for a Post Grad Diploma in Sculpture and Drawing. She is a hugely experienced teacher, having taught art to adults and children for over 16 years, including as a tutor at Waterperry Gardens, at her own studio and at workshops within schools, and local art groups in both Bucks, and Oxfordshire. As an artist, Zoë is drawn to the natural world and especially those whose movement is affected by the different elements of air and water. Zoë's work has been sold through galleries in Oxfordshire, London and Buckinghamshire and her commission work is in collections around the world, including in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Australia and the USA so we are in very capable hands. This class is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as more experienced painters and everyone will leave with their own beautiful robin watercolour picture.
