Water cast jewellery workshop

X

Description

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to make two or three truly unique pieces of water cast jewellery. Once the molten metal has been cast in water you can design how you will use it in your finished design, for example turning it into a pendant, an accent for a ring or statement earrings. There is also the option to add semi-precious gemstone beads or swarovski pearls to your finished design (included in workshop cost!). During this workshop, you will learn about the process of creating water cast jewellery, the different types of silver we use (both fine silver and solid silver) and then watching the beautifully organic shapes be cast in the water as the molten metal is added. Depending on how you want to finish your designs you may also learn how to solder on earring posts, make a ring band or necklace bail. Members of the Noctua team will be on hand throughout this process to support, advise and teach you the skills needed while allowing you to make your jewellery independently. If you need glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, and we also recommend wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit but please enquire before booking a class for anyone under the age of 16 to confirm that the workshop is suitable for children. All under 16s will need to be accompanied by a participating adult.
