Description

Make a wooden eating bowl in the way the vikings did it. On this one day course you will turn at least one bowl on a foot powered lathe. If it is your first bowl, you will be shown how to rough out a bowl from a log, shape both the inside and outside on the lathe and then finish off the last little bits with a hook knife. Matt has been turning in this style for 15 years, so if this is your first bowl, rest assured, he will explain everything. We have been teaching traditional crafts for over 25 years. In our everyday we use both the areas of greenwoodwork and blacksmithing to inspire our students, both young and old. We believe that craft making is a revolutionary act both personally and within society and have used teaching as a way to connect people to lost heritage alongside working with excluded adults to reconnect with their own personal power. Craft is also a great deal of fun.
