Textile design/repeat and colourways.

Design in repeat.

I am a commercial textile/surface pattern designer with a wealth of information that spans 40 years. This includes selling to manufacturers and at design trade fairs in USA/NY as well as Europe.
My main expertise is furnishing textiles and I taught at Manchester Uni and many colleges, subjects such as surface pattern and textile design. This includes design for greetings cards, all stationery/ ceramics and any other surface that you can put a pattern on! I teach how to put a design into repeat and make colourways as well as making the design.
This is not a craft-based course although you can use the information I offer to make designs and objects which are visually appealing in a commercial light.

I run these weekends on demand and there is accommodation available also but not included in the cost here. I have a vast library of inspirational images and designs which I use to illustrate aspects of design. If you have no experience of this subject then I can design the weekend so it's basic and go over the use of painting in Gouache - the paint all designers use, as well as how to make a simple repeat that will enable you to come away with a finished design. The course runs by demand and can be adapted to specific subjects.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?
