Description
The "Smarty Bead" is a very different piece of jewellery - suitable to wear with casual clothes, or dress up for a special occasion too. At this very unique workshop, which is suitable for beginners and improvers alike, you will cut, stamp (or leave plain) letters or symbols, dome and form two sides of the bead. You will then solder the two sides together and make a bail to hang it on a chain. Yes, it’s that simple but complex too and that’s where I come in to guide you stage by stage to a perfect finish. You will have plenty of practice with cutting out and stamping on copper at the start to give you some confidence. Always enjoyed; informative and fun with a stunning piece of sterling silver jewellery to take home with you.
What's included in the price?
Included in the price are the silver, homemade shortcake and refreshments. The workshop takes around 5 hours and so you may like to bring a sandwich with you although there is also the Taurus Crafts' onsite cafe you can purchase food from.

Hello. I am Wendy from WMM Silver. As a jeweller of long standing, and also a B.Ed qualified OFSTED outstanding rated tutor, I have been teaching in the South West for the past 20 years. I love seeing what results can be achieved by beginner students within a few hours with the right stage-by-stage instruction. My aim is to provide a safe and fun forum for you to learn and enjoy and take home a special piece of jewellery to remember your day. All this is done in my dedicated studio at the Taurus Crafts visitor centre in Lydney where you can also browse the lovely shops and eat in the onsite cafe during your break. I also teach in outreach venues when requested and in private homes for special occasions.
