Description

This is a course suitable for those who would like to continue and explore silver jewellery making at home. I advise that prospective students should have attended at least one class with a tutor in a workshop environment as a basic familiarity with tools is an advantage. Knowledge and experience of processes like piercing and soldering, is necessary. The course is delivered using an online video platform and more details will be given when registered. I like to offer one free class (an hour) where we can meet and discuss your expectations and goals before the block of four hour classes are scheduled. Projects are tailored to individual needs, you can make rings, pendants or earrings.

What's included in the price?

- One free session as an introduction. - Four hours one-to-one tuition by video link. - Contact and advice regarding tools and equipment required at time of set-up. - Project setting and homework/goals between sessions. - Feedback prior to sessions.

What you will need

Students should be set up at home with a suitable and safe area to make silver jewellery in, and have an understanding of use of tools etc. This will be discussed at point of contact and tools etc will be discussed.

Maker

I have worked as a jewellery designer and maker for over twenty five years now and as a tutor for around fifteen. My jewellery is inspired by many sources the natural coastal environment in which I live and also by pattern and design that catches my eye. I have worked in trade workshops and studied gemmology which I find really interesting. Now based on Portland, I teach 1:1 classes tailoring classes to individuals needs and small groups of up to six students which run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Also Wednesday and Thursday evenings. I teach an intermediate class on Fridays.
