Description
Start your silver clay journey in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. Live online sessions with Rachel give you all the help and support that you need without having to travel. The kit provided ensures that you'll not only have everything you need for the course but to be able to carry on afterwards too. Book your online session on a full day or split it up over a couple of evenings. Please allow 7-10 days for delivery of your kit. You will learn how to prepare the clay, fire and polish. With a wide range of jewellery options there's something for everyone. This lovely process allows you to be creative in an accessible way, so anyone can do it! Use treasures from your life as inspiration (or even to make your moulds) or just allow the process to guide you. This workshop will enable you to feel confident enough in the process to keep making with silver clay afterwards. You will make 4-6 pieces of silver clay in a variety of techniques. Please provide the address you would like your kit sent to. Please allow 7 - 10 days for delivery of your kit.

What you will need
A clean, safe place to work when using the provided blow torch on the provided heat mat. A small quantity of olive oil in a pot, pliers if you have them (but don't worry if not). Somewhere to dry the clay pieces before firing: a hot radiator, a hot plate, a dehumidifier, hair dryer or a dehydrator. A device with a large enough screen to view the tutorials and the ability to play sound.

Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely and 2 way street!

All your materials, endless tea and coffee and camping accommodation for 'One to One' bookings (this may also be available for other bookings subject to availability - please enquire).
I only take individual bookings so there will only be the people you choose to book for! This means I can make sure the workshop is exactly what individuals and groups want and everyone gets more out of it.
I normally start at 0930hrs but as I only take individual bookings I can be flexible with timings (subject to availability) to suit you.
No need to bring anything with you for your course or workshop unless you want to bring examples or inspiration ... but there are plenty of both here in the studio (surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire Hills) so you can just bring your lovely self!
There is a cute retro caravan that sleeps 1-2 people available onsite (The Old School Campsite) free of charge for 'one to one' bookings (subject to availability). There are also glamping bell tents in the summer and camping pitches available onsite. If camping isn't for you (!) there are lovely holiday cottages at 'Shelve Holidays' or a luxury cabin at 'Heather and Stone'.
