Has your sewing machine got the better of you, or just don’t know where to start? Have you fallen out of love with your sewing machine, or is it sitting gathering dust in the corner? For the complete novice, or someone wanting to recap on the basics and how to get the best from your sewing machine. This is a 2 day, weekend workshop. Next Cohort: 25th & 26th May 2024 You will learn: - How to get started, Including choosing threads and winding bobbins - Needles - what each one does and when to use them - Stitches - what each does and size/spacing - How to make piping - How to sew buttons - How to fit zips - Make a cushion cover to show off at the end! What to will need to bring: - Your sewing machine - Needles (we will have some available to purchase) - Thread - Buttons - Your choice of fabric (available to purchase at additional cost) - A cushion inner, maximum of 18” (available to purchase at additional cost) - A notebook and pen for taking your own notes, though worksheets will be provided - Lunch

Whether you're a complete novice wanting to learn a new skill, or an expert who'd like sense of community, we've a wide selection of classes and workshops plus one-to-one tuition. We offer a range of classes and workshops designed to show you traditional upholstery techniques in a fun and enjoyable environment. For those wanting to learn and create on a regular basis, there’s a choice of weekly daytime and evening classes. Alternatively you can choose one of our weekend workshops to work on a project and to give you a taster of what our regular classes offer. In addition, we offer a range of different workshops in how to get the most from your sewing machine, making cushions, furniture repairs, refinishing, fabrics, and more complex upholstery techniques. We also are happy to provide guidance and advice when furniture shopping so you can learn all about what to look for. As you learn and develop your upholstery skills these will dovetail to give you a comprehensive toolbox of skills and knowledge. We're new to Craft Courses, so we don't have any reviews yet, but hopefully you'll be able to provide us with one when you've been on one of our courses! We can't wait to meet you soon!
