No rules, no mistakes, just joy! My studio has an inviting, creative atmosphere full of light and colour. I have a variety of SAORI looms set up ready for you to weave. No previous experience is necessary. Immerse yourself in the SAORI experience and weave freely in your own way using your full creative capacity. Become familiar with the SAORI looms & weaving techniques to achieve exciting results with colour and texture. Understand what is meant by Misao Jo’s philosophy of self innovation. SAORImôr is one of only 4 registered SAORI studios in the UK and the only one in Wales. As this is a Japanese based craft I like to express the connection between the mountains and sea of North Wales and the mountains and sea of Japan, and to look at Japanese culture and practice. Come whenever it suits you, meet other people, share your ideas and learn from each other. All ages and abilities welcome. My name is Rosie Green. I trained in woven textiles a long time ago and have years of experience in selling and exhibiting my own pieces and in teaching handloom weaving. Running my SAORI studio allows me the opportunity to follow my passion and pass it on to others, helping them to explore their own creativity in a caring and supportive environment.

I first experienced handweaving on a textile course at West Surrey College of Art and Design and have been weaving throughout my adult life. I set up a weaving centre in Llanberis, North Wales in the 1980s. Since discovering Saori weaving in 2012, I have travelled to Japan to study Saori weaving with the family of Misao Jo, the founder of the Saori style. My affinity to freestyle weaving is associated with the accessibility and creativity found in Saori.
