Make Clothes course, a great short course for those who have some sewing experience, ideally you'll have completed a beginner sewing course already. Learn to use a commercial paper pattern to make simple garment such as an A-line skirt or trousers for those who haven't made clothing before. If you're a refresher wanting to learn more advanced skills, why not try something more challenging like a pinafore, waistcoat or jacket. Your tutor will guide you through all the necessary steps to help you make your item of clothing. You'll get expert help in a small group, from cutting out your fabric, understanding the pattern instructions through to constructing your garment. For advanced clothes making you'll learn more professional finishing techniques such as seam binding, adding facing and lining. Option of 3 or 5 week course length available.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
Tuition fee included. Also available in the sewing studio: clothes patterns and samples, books and resources for reference, fabric scraps to practice on, iron and ironing board, cutting rulers and set squares to borrow, plus sewing machines for an additional small hire fee. You'll need to purchase your pattern and fabric, thread and notions, get in touch if you need help with this.
