How this was made
This piece was made using silver clay, which is 99.9% solid silver of hallmark quality in the final product. There is a coating of 24 carat gold leaf on the tails and the beaks. Most of my pieces are inspired by nature. This pendant was created for an exhibition in Tokyo where it was displayed and I was lucky enough to visit it. I think it is suitable as a symbol of love at any time of the year but especially for engagements, weddings and valentine's.
What's included in the price?
- A sterling silver chain which is adjustable between 16" and 18". - A polishing cloth. - It comes in a jewellery box made of recycled material.

I design, make and sell my own unique handmade silver jewellery and also teach how to make silver jewellery. I began my journey into silver metal clay whilst running a pottery studio and soon became hooked! The magic of turning a piece of clay into a solid piece of Hallmark Standard Silver never fails to amaze me and I love sharing this with my students and helping them create a lovely piece of jewellery that they can wear proudly home makes my job the best. I have worked hard to develop my skills and I strive to work to the highest standard. I have over twelve years experience and I: - am a senior metal clay instructor - came third in an international competition held in Tokyo in 2024 - had one of my jewellery pieces displayed in an exhibition in Tokyo in 2023 - hold a higher diploma in silver clay - teach diploma levels 1 & 2 I mainly teach from my studio in Market Bosworth in Leicestershire. I also teach, and have taught, at various studios around the country including Chatsworth House, London, Nottingham, Northampton, Stratford, Birmingham, Melton Mowbray. My classes are relaxed and informative, aiming to give all attendees an incredible experience as well as beautiful jewellery to take home with them. Here’s a taste of what some class attendees have said about me: “Gifted teacher and guides you through the process with hints and tips for each person along the way and has many years of experience, which comes across” “She’s amazing” “Great host” I would love to meet you on one of my courses so please book as soon as you can. It is of hallmark standard and if I am selling a piece that weighs over 7.98 grams I have to hallmark it. I have my own hallmark registered with the London Assay Office.
Yes, it is 99% pure solid silver after firing.
I use silver clay, which is pliable, so it can be shaped into many designs that you can create yourself or I can help you with ideas. When you have moulded your design in clay, you fire your piece to burn off other substances in the clay to leave a residue of 99% pure silver. You then polish your piece to finish off the process to create an amazing piece of your own unique silver jewellery.
Absolutely. I take every opportunity to look after our special world. I use recyclable packaging and the silver clay itself is made up from recycled material. Components of old mobile phones and out of date hospital x-rays are just examples of material that are recycled into silver clay.
