Linocut printmaking at Bull Mill Arts Wiltshire
Description
Step-by-step through the creative printing process, from composing your design to cutting and printing your block. Using simple techniques for striking results, this workshop gives you all the skills you need for tabletop linocut printmaking. Whether you're making a limited edition print series, designing your own card, or experimenting with repeat pattern work, this workshop is perfect for complete beginners as well as experienced artists. This workshop is available as a 1-day (Saturday or Sunday) or a 2-day weekend course. Many students come to both days (Saturday and Sunday) to practice different linocut printmaking techniques each day, using reduction, multi block or masking techniques for multicoloured or monochrome prints. Many people return to the workshop over and over again. Returning students use the workshop as an opportunity to develop their ideas further or to practice a new technique (e.g multi block, reduction etc.) And many people return simply for the joy of spending a whole day entirely devoted to creative printmaking. Max 8 people in each workshop. Olivia Clifton-Bligh is an award winning sculptor and printmaker, specialising in woodcut and linocut techniques. She studied at Goldsmiths' College (BA Hons. Fine Art & Art History), she is a member of the Printmakers Council and her work is exhibited through out the UK. Her studio is at Bull Mill Arts, an artist's community established by Lord Bath on the Longleat Estate, on the banks of the beautiful river Wylye surrounded by water meadows and woodland.
