With high quality materials and really clear instructions anyone can produce beautiful pieces of art and craft. Each kit provides all the materials you will need, step by step instructions and examples of possible finished pieces. The kit and tutorials cover the equivalent of a one day course with the added bonus that you can do it from the comfort of your own home. You will learn to design your own laserable pieces, explore a variety of material settings, and design work in 2D, relief and 3D. You don't need any prior knowledge or experience as I will take you through every step. The absolute joy of lasering is that you can create quality, precision work from just an idea. The laser cutter does all the hard work for you! The workshop involves learning to - use drawing software (CAD) to create designs - set up and send jobs to the laser - experiment with different materials and thicknesses that can be lasered - use the settings to get the style and finish that you choose in a wide variety of materials Tutorials are in Adobe Illustrator but LightBurn tutorials are coming soon! Please message if you would like this option. The tutorials are set on a Versa CO2 laser. Due to the huge range of lasers on the market it is not possible to cover them all but all concepts and principles are the same across lasers and software. And ... What you will need
You will need access to Adobe Illustrator (there is a Free Trial available on the Adobe website) or LightBurn (agin there is a 30 day free trial) to use as your laser design software. Having your own laser is ideal but if you don't and you would like to try lasering please message me and we can arrange for some of your designs to be lasered by me once you have completed the tutorials.

Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely and 2 way street!

FAQs
All your materials, endless tea and coffee and camping accommodation for 'One to One' bookings (this may also be available for other bookings subject to availability - please enquire).
I only take individual bookings so there will only be the people you choose to book for! This means I can make sure the workshop is exactly what individuals and groups want and everyone gets more out of it.
I normally start at 0930hrs but as I only take individual bookings I can be flexible with timings (subject to availability) to suit you.
No need to bring anything with you for your course or workshop unless you want to bring examples or inspiration ... but there are plenty of both here in the studio (surrounded by the beautiful Shropshire Hills) so you can just bring your lovely self!
There is a cute retro caravan that sleeps 1-2 people available onsite (The Old School Campsite) free of charge for 'one to one' bookings (subject to availability). There are also glamping bell tents in the summer and camping pitches available onsite. If camping isn't for you (!) there are lovely holiday cottages at 'Shelve Holidays' or a luxury cabin at 'Heather and Stone'.
