Laser boxes are such fantastic products. Design bespoke box products, expand you range of wooden or acrylic boxes or package your beautiful crafts. You'll learn some great skills along the way including laser finger joints, slot joints, living hinges and more. You'll be addicted to lasering with just one workshop. The options and possibilities are mind blowing! You will spend the day designing and lasering your own pieces and we will explore a variety of materials. You don't need any prior knowledge or experience as I will take you through every step. I know you will be really impressed and proud of everything you produce, and you'll be coming away with a range of pieces. The absolute joy of lasering is that you can create quality, precision work from just an idea. The laser cutter does all the hard work for you! The workshop involves learning to - use drawing software (CAD) to create designs - set up and send jobs to the Laser - experiment with different materials and thicknesses that can be lasered - post laser finishes and construction of any multi component pieces / 3D With this form of manufacturing getting more and more accessible you may even be scouring ebay by the end of the day! Workshops are normally run as individual bookings so that, whether it’s just you or a small group that you want to bring with you, I can tailor the workshop to suit your interests and needs. If you would like an open workshop for others to book onto so that you can meet new people, then please let me know and I will keep the date open for others to join if they wish. Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely and 2 way street!
