What's included in the price?

All materials are supplied but we ask you to bring a medium sized towel to use with the soapy water that is part of the felting process (see allergies, below). We’ll provide apple and orange juice, as well as water but feel free to bring your own snacks in a sealed container as we are mindful of allergies, your child’s and others’. We will ask you to complete an allergy form which we will send out beforehand. Please include any allergic reaction to washing up liquid and latex gloves. We will also request a contactable mobile number in case of emergencies during the class. This workshop is exclusively for unaccompanied 9 to 12-year-olds. No adults allowed, except for our qualified & DBS checked art teacher, Wendy Gray, and her assistant.

Founded in 1906, we are a family firm with shops in York and Harrogate. We specialise in haberdashery and needlecrafting materials and workshops, with an international reputation for stocking over 10,000+ different button designs. Our classes are held in a beautiful beamed room at the top of our medieval building in York and in the Yorkshire town of Ilkley in a converted Victorian double-fronted shop. They are taught by practicing designers and makers with considerable expertise in (and passion for) their respective crafts, and considerable teaching experience.
