Description
Learn how to make yarn using wool fibre. Taught over two days: Saturday 7th February, 2026 and Sunday 22nd February 2026. OR Saturday 11th April, 2026 and Sunday 19th April, 2026. Begin by using a drop spindle and then two or three different styles of spinning wheel to see which suits you. The course covers mechanics, co-ordination, drafting skills and plying. You will produce 2 bobbins of yarn over 2 days. Note that the days do not run consecutively. The reason for the gap is to allow you time to purchase your own wheel and bring it on the second day if you wish. This is by no means a condition. You will be taught in a relaxed style. The aim on the course is to learn whilst having fun.

FAQs
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own spinning wheel to the second half of the course. We will do our best to make sure that it is working and help you to use it if at all possible. Some wheels just need a little oil and a bit of persuasion!
