Description
Gelli Plate Printing - Shapes of the Shore Learn how to create beautiful prints using the gelli plate printing method. Taking inspiration from the shore line you will be encouraged to experiment with a collection of natural materials. We'll be looking at shells, seaweed, pebbles, feathers and other found objects to recreate the captivating colours and shapes of nature. During the workshop, you will learn how to apply ink to your gel plate to achieve the correct consistency. You will also explore layering techniques to create fascinating shapes and patterns in your final prints. By the end of the session you will have the opportunity to transform your designs into prints or greetings cards to take home with you. While all materials will be provided, you are welcome to bring some of your own. Choose your favourite shells or patterned pebbles. Also, flat leaves or feathers with interesting shapes and veined textures. A variety of sizes and shapes will make a pleasing composition. Please note that objects with sharp edges are not allowed as they may damage the gel plate. Bring an apron or old shirt.
