Learn to turn a wooden bowl on a traditional pole lathe

X

Description

This course is suitable for complete beginners or those with a little more experience in woodworking. You will be coached on using a traditional pole lathe and hook tools to make a unique hardwood wooden bowl. During the day, we will look at selecting wood for a bowl, how to make a bowl blank, and mount it onto the lathe. As creating the bowl blank is a skill in itself, I will provide one that is ready to mount so that you spend as much time using the lathe and hooks as possible. Using a traditional lathe is physically demanding; those with any knee, hip or back complaints may find this course isn't ideal for you. I have hosted training sessions at the address advertised, but I'm not based at the studio. Therefore I will need to confirm any dates with them before the booking can be completed. PLEASE CONTACT ME TO CONFIRM THE DATES BEFORE BOOKING. I can run courses on weekdays or weekends - whilst this is intended as a 1-2-1 course, I can accommodate couples if that interests you.
