Our Art & Wine Evenings offer a fun, relaxed and creative night out in Edinburgh's fabulous city centre, and are perfect for those who want to reengage with their creative side, or just enjoy a bit of escapism. With hands-on help from local painter Suzanne Kemplay, you will learn how to create your very own still life, portrait or landscape painting using acrylic paints, while enjoying a glass of wine served with cheese and crackers plus our usual selection of locally-blended Shibui teas, and coffee options. You don't have to be able to draw, so it's perfect for beginners as well as those who are new to using acrylic paints. And we think you'll be amazed at what you can achieve in one evening! Suzanne offers a range of themes throughout the year, and you will be given a choice of 2 options to paint on the night. She'll also provide a brief background to the artist's work, and support throughout the evening to help you make the most of your time. No previous experience is needed. Images can be traced so the focus is on the painting and you can get straight to work, and have fun playing with paint. Suzanne will talk you through the process showing you how to mix colours, and how to apply acrylic paint to get the best results.
What's included in the price?
The Arienas Collective workshops are run from a supportive and welcoming home-based environment within Edinburgh’s City Centre Georgian New Town. We invite you to turn up, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in creating something unique. Spaces on our workshops are limited so that our artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. All equipment is provided, and the materials you need to complete your project are included in the price of your workshop (unless stated otherwise). Light refreshments are included in the price, and a wide range of dietary requirements can be catered for. This includes a selection of individually wrapped teas from local blender Shibui Tea, coffees, and hot chocolate plus access to drinking water. Our Art & Wine Evenings also include complimentary wine (red or white) and cheese. PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home, and it is not a nut-free space. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking. This workshop is also available to book for private group get-togethers; themed wedding and birthday celebrations; for corporate team building and well-being purposes; and can be brought to a location of your choice. The workshops are run from our mews home in the beautiful Georgian New Town of central Edinburgh. We believe in the wellbeing benefits of engaging in creative activity, and our class sizes are kept small so that you get the support you need to make the most of your time with us. We teach you creative skills you can continue at home.
