2 Day Silversmithing Course (South Wales)

X

Description

In this 2 day class, you will learn the basics of silversmithing! We will spend 5 hours a day covering the basics of soldering, filing, polishing, and more. The design of your pieces is essentially up to you and how much jewelry you will leave with! Silver isn't included in the cost, you will pay per gram for this. To give you an idea - a simple band costs about £5, a large stone set ring about £15 in silver (not including a stone), a pendant costs around £15 and small earrings cost around £15 in silver. This class is suitable for beginners and is an introduction to basic silversmithing techniques. We will break each stage down step by step throughout the class so you can leave wearing your new creation! Please note: My studio space is tiny! I can only accommodate ONE student at a time. If you are interested in me teaching a larger group, I can do so on request (a larger space can be rented) - I can teach up to 8 people. This will take place in my studio on the Gower (20 minutes outside of Swansea). Courses are 5 hours long (per day). Age Restrictions Classes are suitable for anyone over 16; for ages 14-16 they will need to be accompanied by an adult who is also booked into the class. Please click the 'message the tutor' button if you have any questions at all!

What's included in the price?

FAQs

Depends which course you are booking onto and how many people are attending. If you are the only person attending, most courses will be complete within 3 hours. For groups of 3 or more you are looking at 4/5 hours for most courses.

If you are going to get hungry over the course of the session I'd advise bringing a pack lunch. There is tea and coffee available at my studio, but there isn't many shops within walking distance.

There is indeed, there is usually parking directly out front but if this is unavailable There will be parking available within the yard.
