Description
You'll start the day looking at traditional fabrics and photos of the block printing process in India. After a demonstration you will print onto different types of paper using the wide selection of hand carved blocks available, and experiment with borders, repeat patterns, and colour. In the afternoon you'll print a tea towel or bag to take home. This course is suitable for beginners, no prior experience is necessary. Your tutor is Clare Walsh, a designer, maker, textile enthusiast with a passion for colour and texture who prints using a varied collection of beautifully carved Indian woodblocks. We keep our class sizes small, to allow participants to have plenty of time with the tutor.
