In 2012 I set up the Welsh Academy of Art having moved to the Brecon Beacons from London.
In 1998 I went to Florence to study portraiture and landscape using the traditional methods that the old masters employed. This gave me a strong ground from which to grow my career painting portrait commissions and landscapes around the world.
Teaching students these time tested methods which have developed over the centuries and are still evolving, fuels my inspiration for the never ending endeavour to create beautiful paintings.
"The Masters Course has been a revelation for me.
Lucy is a superb teacher, and the course is structured so that skills are built in progressive stages, which I have found a great way of learning.
The School is a welcoming community of students and artists, and an inspirational place to learn traditional drawing and painting.

"I attended the Masters Course a few years ago. I learnt so much and enjoyed every moment. It is an amazing experience and allowed me to change my career to become a full time oil painter.
Lucy is extremely knowledgeable and enthuses her students with her passion for fine art. If you are serious about improving your oil painting technique then the Masters Course is for you."
