About me and my studio
I am a professional jeweller and have been teaching for over 10 years.
All of my workshops take place either in my studio, set within the beautiful walled gardens of Belgrave Hall itself, a stunning Grade II listed building in Leicester.
The studio is part of the Hall's former outbuildings and stables . It is an oasis of calm and the perfect place for a spot of jewellery making.
I work primarily in silver, gold, copper and brass. I also specialise in a Korean technique called “Keum Boo where 24ct gold is bonded to silver.
I take great joy in passing the skills and techniques I have developed over the years with my students. Seeing the joy on their faces as they get hands on with using tools like hammers and forming tools to create a beautiful piece of jewellery, brings great joy.

"My wife and I did the half day course, and with no experience in jewellery making I thought I’d be leaving with something resembling a ring pull at best. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Linda showed us various techniques in jewellery making with ideas of what we could make in our session, both choosing to make silver rings, we learned to anneal and emboss with a design of our choosing, shape and finish the rings to, dare I say, a professional finish.
The studio is spacious with good facilities, there’s equipment for everything you need to make your own piece. All in, a fantastic experience for us. "

"Hi Chris,
Thank you both so much for your kind words and for sharing your positive experience!
It's wonderful to know that despite having no previous experience in jewellery making, you were pleasantly surprised by what you were able to create. My goal is always to allow an environment where you can really immerse yourself in the creative process and open yourself up to what’s possible. You had such an inquisitive mind and it was a joy to share my knowledge with you both!
I loved that you made each other’s rings. Such a wonderful way to make something extra special. It still makes me smile when I said “let’s make this more professional” instead of “even more professional” - in joke.
Thank you once again for such a positive review. I truly appreciate your support and hope to welcome you back for another enjoyable experience in the future. 😊"
"Lovely course with teenagers who enjoyed the experience and learning. Would have preferred a few more choices on shapes though."
Linda Sandeman Jewellery responded:
"Hi Sunny,
Thank you so much for your review and feedback. The birthday girl and her friends were a joy, and brought so much creativity to the session. Thanks again for choosing my workshop as a birthday gift and providing me with some constructive advice on offering a bigger selection of shapes. "
"Myself and my daughter came for a jewellery making morning as a Christmas present. We were made to feel really at home and really special during our workshop and had the freedom to get really creative with Linda. We were both able to try different techniques and both made pieces of jewellery we were really pleased with! Special pieces of jewellery we made together with lovely memories to treasure alongside them. We absolutely loved our morning and look forward to another session where we can try out even more skills and techniques. "
"I wasn't sure what to expect from the workshop and I guess I'd never really thought about how jewellery is made. It was a complete eye-opener! There were two of us and Linda expertly...and patiently took us through the various processes. At the end of the day I was the proud owner of a pair of silver earrings and matching necklace! Thank you Linda for a really interesting and fun day.
