New and Exclusive Zentangle Art Workshop Now is your chance to learn the art of Zentangle with a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), in a step by step, easy to follow workshop, which is suitable for beginners – no experience necessary! No drawing skills required either! Learn some of the essential elements of Zentangle and begin to build your understanding of this relaxing and mindful artform. Using only a fine pen, a 2B pencil and a blender, we will draw some fascinating ‘tiles’ which, when put together with others, will create a stunning mosaic. Morning Session: In this session, we will cover the classic introduction to this art form, as taught by the originators, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. More than simply drawing, Zentangle has a wonderful philosophy behind it that can genuinely be life- changing! Anything is possible, one line at a time…and there are NO MISTAKES! Using simple ‘I S C O’ pen strokes and following the step-by- step process of a set of deconstructed patterns, we will complete a small ‘tile’ square of paper that in itself unlocks the potential of creating your own versions and interpretations of the primary ‘tangles’. Enjoy seeing your work with others in the class – the tiles make a beautiful mosaic when put together. Afternoon Session: Building on the morning, we will further explore tangles and enhancements to the tangles that bring your drawing to life, making them appear 3-dimensional and ‘popping’ off the page! About the artist I’ve been working as an Art Teacher since 2015 and in 2018, went to the United States to do the Certified Zentangle Teacher's course with Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, creators of the Zentangle Method. Zentangle is accessible and enlightening for adults, children and groups of people of all abilities - artistic or otherwise! I love teaching this technique for many reasons, not least the delight that my students show with the results of their classes. In addition to the wonderful artistic opportunities it opens up, Zentangle provides a way of being mindful, meditative and relaxing, whose effects can have a lasting, profound and beneficial effect. Dr Helen Jones has 12 years art teaching experience. Helen achieved a 1st Class honours in Fine Art and continues to be a practicing Artist from her home studio in Chester. She completed an MA in Art Education and then completed a Doctorate in the subject. She has delivered adult art workshops nationally. Helen has also taught art in Tuscany, the Congo, Rome and Finland. She has a warm and encouraging nature.
