Sew this 'Twelve Days of Christmas' penny mat/ candle mat ready for Christmas. Adorn your table with your hand sewn mat in the festive period with candles, Christmas flowers or a sweet dish filled with chocolatey treats. This 'Twelve Days of Christmas' penny mat/candle mat is my own design. This kit contains the required wool felt in red, black white and grey. It also contains 3 skeins of DMC thread and glass beads. The instructions are easy to follow and there are plenty of coloured photographs to support your project. Transfer the templates onto fusible web (optional) 'stitch yourself to your happy' place as you create your mat. In addition you will need: fusible web and 5 x 4mm buttons (1x white and 15 x black). The completed 12 scalloped mat measures approx 45cm x 45cm. Suggested stitches are blanket stitch, back stitch and french knot but you can choose your own.

Since leaving my role as a primary school teacher I have continued to work with children as a private tutor. Having plenty of time on my hands, I also design sewing kits and run craft workshops. I have grown to love working with wool felt, which makes an appearance in most of my creations. The texture, colours and durability of it makes it a joy to work with.
