Description
This piece has been lovingly handcrafted by myself from high quality fusing glass, being created with a variety of techniques and stages. Each fish has been fused in my glass kiln and mounted on stainless steel stakes onto a stunning unique mangrove wooden piece. The piece is finished with real live airplants, care instructions will be provided with this piece to keep it looking perfect. How this was made
Made of art glass, stainless steel, mangrove wood, live air plants. Each unique koi fish has been made up of 5 or more pieces of glass, all cut and worked by a mixture hand tools and a ring-saw. The black eye details have been made by flame working thin strands of glass. Powder has been carefully sorted and manipulated to create stunning colour and detail like scales on the bodies. The fins and tails have been hand-painted with metallic silver lines to add a subtle shimmer that gives each fish a sense of flow movement. The fish have been arranged and mounted onto the sculptural wooden base to create a swirling ethereal art piece that would look amazing anywhere in the home.

Silversmith & Glass Artist - I started making art from a young age and in my teens began to teach myself to solder and work with metals such as copper, brass and silver. I worked as a designer/maker of bespoke sterling silver and gemstone jewellery for 4 years selling my work online and in high street galleries in the town where I grew up. Later, I found an interest in kiln fired glass and joined a studio at a popular Craft Village in Derby. I moved to the Norfolk Countryside in 2017 and I have been working with glass for nearly 7 years now - I love it. I have recently combined my passion for jewellery making and fused glass in my latest work. The dragonfly collection is a combination of both of my passions which makes them very special to me.
