Traditional Linocut with Hannah Cantellow Printmaker
Description
A complete introduction to linocut relief printmaking. In this linocut printing workshop you'll explore a range of linocutting tools, how to create marks, use areas of positive and negative space in your design, how to ink your lino block and learn to print by hand, as well as using a relief Albion press. We'll be using traditional 'grey lino' also known as battleship lino - this is made from linseed oil and cork, backed by hessian fabric and is biodegradable. At the end of the workshop you'll have created an A5 print, have a good foundation and understanding of the tools and materials needed and have carved your block to take away and practice printing with again and again!
