Sarah Backhouse reviewed: Saturday silver clay jewellery workshop at Ransom's Pavilion, Hitchin 1.30pm - 5.00pm

"I attended Tuuli's silver clay workshop at Ransom's Pavillion, Hitchin. The workshop was a birthday gift - the process of booking with a gift voucher was very straightforward. Before attending I received helpful instructions about where to go, what to bring and what to expect. The workshop was a small group of 6, plus Tuuli. We were all made very welcome, and Tuuli started with a friendly intro to the course and what we'd be doing. The workshop was hugely fun and rewarding. We learned so many techniques, and I particularly enjoyed using the blowtorch! We practised making our pieces first before being let loose on the silver clay, which I found very helpful. The clay itself was easier to work with than I was expecting, and the finished pieces were delicate and very pretty. I was delighted to be able to make three small pendants plus a pair of earrings, which was more than I was expecting - basically we were given a set amount of clay, and could do what we wanted with it, some made a single ring, others like me made a few items. At each step Tuuli gave a very clear explanation, and took the time to show us (sometimes repeatedly!) how to do something - I really appreciated her patience and friendly manner, especially when I held things up a bit when trying to get my earrings to match (sorry about that!). The pace and content of the course were perfect for me as a beginner - however I think it would also be fine if you do have some experience and had a piece in mind that you wanted to make. I would definitely recommend Tuuli's workshop - the whole experience was simple, fun, inclusive and rewarding, and I'm absolutely delighted with what I achieved. Definitely good value for money too. Thank you. "

Wendy Greenwood reviewed: Saturday Silver Ring Making Workshop - Ransom's Pavilion, Hitchin

"I did the silver clay course on Saturday with my niece. Both complete novices but Tuuli was very patient and explained processes clearly, and didn’t mind going over processes more than once for those of us who were confused the first time (me!)! She was very knowledgeable about her craft and ensured that we all came away with items to be proud of. Would highly recommend. "

Tuuli Parker responded:

"I'm so pleased you feel proud of what you made Wendy - you should be, your pieces came out beautifully! Thank you so much for your feedback, it is very much appreciated. Kindest regards, Tuuli"

Sarah Westcott reviewed: Saturday Silver Ring Making Workshop - Ransom's Pavilion, Hitchin

"Tuuli was a fantastic teacher! Patient with a complete beginner who had never tried any sort of crafting before. I came away with two beautiful silver pieces and lots of confidence to try another course. The small group meant plenty of opportunity to ask questions of Tuuli and a really friendly atmosphere. Can't recommend highly enough! "

Tuuli Parker responded:

"Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a nice review Sarah! Your pieces came out beautifully and I look forward to seeing you on futures courses! Kindest regards, Tuuli"
