Maker's bio

Eunice started teaching pottery classes at Emerson College in Forest Row in 2000. Then, for many years she ran “The Grapevine Studio”, making and teaching ceramics to both adults and children. In 2007 she moved to Portugal to open a Retreat Centre and from there she established a studio making her own porcelain product range, as well as running many pottery holidays. On her return to Sussex, Eunice founded the “The Clay Studio”. As well as managing the studio, she still loves hands-on teaching.

Glenice reviewed: Family Morning Pottery Experience (suitable for beginners)

"I booked my seven year-old granddaughter on this course for a birthday gift, and she loved it so much we went a second time. Helen was really organised, so no time was wasted. The teaching was great and the atmosphere very warm and welcoming. Beatrice had fun, made friends and came away with a beautiful bird feeder, which is her pride and joy. I'd really recommend it for any beginner, whatever age."

The Clay Studio responded:

"Many thanks, and pleased to hear you and Beatrice enjoyed it."

Deborah Shaw reviewed: Pottery Wheel Throwing Workshop

"Having never been even in the vicinity of a potters wheel in my life I was amazed to successfully produce multiple pots with Susanna's guidance and eventually completely on my own. What a fabulous morning with tangible results, beautifully glazed, in use, at my table. I am looking forward to attempting another "throwing morning" to improve my skills but it was brilliantly led; Susanna was calm, open and beyond helpful. Thank you for introducing me to a wonderful past-time."

The Clay Studio responded:

"So pleased you enjoyed it Deborah! Thank you."
