Maker's bio

Jane Bridgewater is a highly qualified chef and has been teaching and training chefs in further education colleges for 20 years. She was a BBC MasterChef Finalist in the 1990s and she started Tara House Bakery some ten years ago. She is now a successful baker and cake designer and wants to pass on her skills, knowledge and expertise to future cake makers. A range of cake decorating courses during the year will include vintage, wedding and Christmas cupcake decorating.

"My 15 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Jane had everything beautifully organised and she did an amazing job teaching us how to decorate the cupcakes. It was such a special experience for us to enjoy and I felt it was worth every penny. "

"Went to this course with my friend and absolutely loved it, Jane and her husband were very welcoming and the course was fantastic. Jane was extremely pleasant and very helpful with her method of teaching. We stopped for a break and had beautiful homemade cake, teas and coffee. A beautiful home and teacher facilities. My friend and I were taught slowly and to perfection ! I highly recommend this course, thank you so much !!!"

"I purchased this course as a gift for my daughter in law. I am so pleased I went as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the cake decorating lesson and worth the money. Jane (and Paul, the refreshments man 😂) were both really friendly and made you feel welcome. Jane is an excellent teacher and I learnt lots of new skills. We enjoyed the class so much, and the cakes, that we have booked to go on another one in December. Highly recommend. "
