About Stitching Kitchen
Stitching Kitchen was created by Hannah Thompson, a textile artist who loves to create in fabric and thread. She teaches various textile art related courses from her kitchen - and provides home made cakes and teas/coffee. The courses run regularly and also by arrangement, she also travels to other locations for clubs, shops and for parties.
Stitching Kitchen's Courses
Using pre-cut fabric and embroidery threads you will create your own picture themed around hearts and flowers. Finish up by raiding the extensive stash of buttons, sequins, ribbons and other trims. Fun for all levels of ability, no artistic talent needed.
The finished piece can be framed to hand on a wall or incorporated into another project.

We will spend a couple of hours to create a beautiful flower from scratch using wool roving (unspun merino wool). The magic of wet felting uses hot water and soap to magically convert wool into a beautiful felted flower - which you can stitch or add to your next craft project or just wear it!

Have fun with a variety of wool, fibres, threads, string and fabric. You will use a simple loom or frame to weave a textured piece during the workshop, you may use this in your home or perhaps it could be the start of something larger. We will cover the basics of weaving, warp and weft – and creating simple patterns too.

Join us at Stitching Kitchen to experiment with Indian block printing, at the end of the session you will have some beautiful printed fabric and a couple of decorated items to take home. No stitching required for this workshop – do bring an apron and wear older clothes, we will be working with fabric paints which don’t wash out!!!
