My passion for pottery started in Cape Town, South Africa where I grew up surrounded by majestic mountains and wild oceans with its diverse scenery of coastlines, the veld, and wildlife. My mother was a potter and my dad an artist so my introduction to colours, shape and textures started at an early age, followed by a degree in art and then an MA in Ceramics.
Now I live in the beautiful Surrey hills so am further inspired by the green rolling hills (Box Hill) and woods on my doorstep with bluebells and luminous rape seed fields in spring and many ferns to collect to imprint into clay. I love every process of pottery, whether its handbuilding or throwing on the wheel and enjoy sharing my knowledge I've built up over the past 30 + years with my students.
"Marina was wonderful! We did the half day course (myself and my mother) and thoroughly enjoyed the space, learning and chance to be creative. Marina was extremely knowledgeable about pottery and a fantastic teacher. Would highly recommend! "

"Great course and great fun. Marina was a brilliant teacher making it look so easy. My wife picked it up so well but Marina did not laugh at my efforts, just saving them for me in the nick of time. Great fun and would recommend "
