Maker's bio

I am a textile artist, tutor and community arts practitioner. I live on the North East Coast and work from my studio and gallery in Saltburn by the Sea. My artwork is inspired by people; their relationships and memories - I am to create a snapshot in time. I have taught a range of workshops for many years. My aim is for students to leave with a wealth of new knowledge, having created something unique to them. Workshops focus on exploration, experimenting with techniques and having fun.

Janet reviewed: Text in Textiles hand embroidery workshop in Saltburn by the Sea

"I was looking forward to this course but didn’t feel I extended my knowledge. Spent 3 hours doing something I could have done by myself without attending this course."

Louise Goult Textiles responded:

"I'm sorry you feel this way; I thought your embroidered writing really improved as the workshop went on and that you had a good idea of how to complete your artwork after the workshop had finished. I hope that you go on to complete the embroidered garden as it was a lovely idea and complemented your chosen quote well. "

Lesley Iredale reviewed: Textile techniques monthly class

"Louise has shown us several new, and interesting techniques. She is always willing to answer questions, and adapt the session's to include other areas, in which students are interested. I look forward to learning more from her."

Louise Goult Textiles responded:

"Thank you for the lovely review, it's a pleasure to teach and support you with your textile art. I'm looking forward to future lessons and seeing the work that you create."
