Maker's bio

Using my experience from over twenty years of working as a professional stained glass artist and over 10 years teaching the craft I have created this unique Beginners Stained Glass Kit with the idea to try and make stained glass making accessible to more people. I have eliminated the biggest fear & struggle most people seem to have when starting out, by supplying ready hand-cut stained glass shapes leaving you to enjoy the therapeutic process of attaching them together in what ever pattern or design that pleases you. You can either follow the designs provided to make light catchers or explore your own creativity and make some up of your own or put all the pieces together to make one decorative panel! The kit contains all the tools and glass shapes you need to make at least SIX substantial stained glass light catchers in the comfort of your own home! Why not share and invite a friend to join in or have it as an activity at a family gathering? Use to decorate all your favourite indoor/outdoor places OR delight your friends and family by showing off your newly found skills and give them as gifts!

"Jo has a vast amount of knowledge to share. The day was well organised and gave us some creative freedom alongside a structured task. It consisted of two creations. The first being four rectangles to practice and understand basic skills/process. The second we were give advice and shown examples, and given freedom to make what we liked with the provided colours and shapes. Great day."

"We asked Jo to come to our premises in South Yorkshire for a team building day. There were six of us so Jo told us that she would have to adjust the workshop slightly to allow everyone to have a go at soldering. We were offered a great selection of pre-cut glass to design our lightcatchers. During the session Jo was able to explain the history of stained glass and we all found her delightful and informative. We were all given a go at soldering (harder than you may think) Later on, Jo asked us if we would like to have a go at cutting glass. Great fun but it really is a skilled task. My team enjoyed their day immensely and I felt that it bought us all together. Highly recommended, thank you#Andy"

"Was bought the Stained Glass Beginners Course as a birthday present from my daughter. Wow! What an excellent day we had. I met with some great like minded people and Jo who runs the course was great. We got to make a couple of light catchers which were excellent. Thank you Jo :)"
