"Second time on this course last week with Dawn. Each time has a been very enjoyable as Dawn is so friendly, approachable and a fantastic course tutor. There was such much choice with regard to materials and colours. On both occasions Dawn provided lovely home-baked cakes and lunches. Thoroughly recommend this course. It was very relaxing and therapeutic, all down to Dawn's hospitality and social nature. Can't thank her enough!"

"Lovely mosaic class with Dawn last week, she is so friendly and helpful. As a first-timer I was worried about how I would manage but Dawn was great at advising me on my design and choice of colours. There was a very wide choice of materials and designs and we were all spoilt for choice and enjoyed rummaging around the different colours and pieces to use (tiles, buttons, beads etc.). Dawn provided a wonderful home-made quiche for lunch with salad and dressings, as well as a fantastic home-baked carrot cake and lots of tea and coffee as needed. I had such a lovely day and can thoroughly recommend Dawn's classes."

"Thank you for the lovely day! Dawn has done everything possible to make people on the course feel like welcomed guests. (Going so far as to make a delicious vegan chocolate cake that I could have, which was very kind and inclusive) Creating the mosaics was a very absorbing and inspiring activity, and Dawn's guidance and her setup of the materials available made the experience feel really exciting. The course has definitely left me feeling compelled to try Mosaic again. Strongly recommend!"

"I had a fantastic day with Dawn at her mosaic making class. She is a very good teacher and is very encouraging and patient; I felt really confident and she had some really good suggestions. It was so nice to spend a day crafting and chatting with like-minded people. The hospitality was second to none, we were made to feel very welcome, not just by Dawn but by her lovely in-laws too. Lunch was amazing - the best quiche I've ever had and a beautifully moist carrot cake! Thank you so much Dawn for a wonderful day, Julie xx"

"What a lovely day I had with my daughter at Dawn's mosaic course. It had been bought for a present and not being very arty I was a bit unsure of how I would do. Dawn made it so user friendly and inspiring with ideas and examples for us to look at. The group was friendly and relaxed, added to well thought out and tasty food. My end result was such an achievement, it will be hung in pride of place in my home. Thanks Dawn :)"

"A very warm and friendly welcome, with a relaxed atmosphere. The workshop provided a great introduction to this wonderful art with Dawn on hand to share her knowledge and experience , has inspired me to carry on ... even have my first commission! The day was filled with friendly banter too with lots of laughs and we were well catered for with homemade cakes and warming winter soups . Thank you I really enjoyed the day."

"Dawn recently ran a lovely mosaic birthday party for my 9 year old daughter. We chatted beforehand about timings etc and what we could do with the girls, most of whom had never done a mosaic before, and Dawn couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. She arrived in plenty of time to set up and brought all the materials and equipment with her, which made things easy for me. Our party was for 8 girls which was a good number, as Dawn could get round everyone to help and advise. Dawn brought an assortment of shaped boards including foxes, flower pots, bunnies and hearts and a variety of different tiles (all pre cut, no sharp edges) so the girls could design their own unique mosaic. It took the girls about an hour to do their boards, and then Dawn helped clear up before taking them away to be grouted. I picked them up a week later and handed them out to the girls and they are absolutely thrilled with them. Dawn had even attached ribbons or wall hangers to them so they could be hung up straight away. I would highly recommend a mosaic party with Dawn for anyone with a child who is creative, likes crafts or simply wants a party with a difference!"

"I have attended 2 of Dawn's mosaic courses currently and have absolutely loved them both. Dawn is great and an excellent mosaic teacher and hostess. Dawn is there constantly on hand with tips and advice and also lots of tea/coffee and cake, then delicious homemade soup for lunch. It is a very relaxing day and i look forwards very much to attending and loving another course soon! Thanks Dawn xxxxx"

"I had a fab day, came home with my first ever mosaic and lots of insperation to carry on myself. Dawn had lots of time for the group as individuals. Unlimited tea coffee, with home made cake and home made soup for lunch, we were made to feel at home. I would recomend this class to anyone, it was well worth the money."

"Having stayed at the B&B and been inspired by Dawn’s mosaics I was very keen to return for one of her courses - I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Dawn you are a wonderful host, teacher and cook... the atmosphere and company was great, the time flew and at the end of the course I had a beautiful butterfly which I’m proud to display in my home. "We attended the one day mosaic course whilst staying at Dawn's B & B. We loved every minute and I loved learning a new skill. Dawn was a very attentive teacher, encouraging and very knowledgeable on mosaics. The day was very relaxed and Dawn made homemade quiche for lunch and her fantastic homemade scones and cake were offered throughout the day. Dawn has instilled the confidence in me to continue making mosaics. This was a wonderful course in all ways and I highly recommend it"

"Two things to note about this course: Dawn's enthusiasm and her cakes! Both are fantastic. The course is easy going and relaxed with plenty of time for questions. Inspiration is everywhere from Dawn's own finished mosaics. If you are looking to get into crafting then go for this course first as her enthusiasm is catching and shows you how much fun and joy there is in creating an object with your own hands. Plenty of choices and guidance for your first mosaic plus an incredible array of tessarae to choose from. All in all a very enjoyable day and would recommend this to anyone."

"A very enjoyable day! Dawn was extremely welcoming and well organised. There was an excellent selection of animals/shapes to mosaic and it was very helpful to have so many completed examples to use for ideas and for inspiration. Very good selection of colours and finish of tiles. Refreshments were provided throughout the day. The cake was especially delicious. We also looked at the bed and breakfast accommodation, which is best described as delightful! Thank you to Dawn for a superb day-I am now hooked on mosaics!"

"I booked this day course for me and my friend as a birthday present. Dawn was absolutely fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. We had a variety of different items to choose from to mosaic and were then shown how to cut and place the glass after a safety talk. We enjoyed lovely homemade cake and flapjack for a snack followed by lunch- I had a special vegan meal made for me whilst the others enjoyed quiche and salad! "My husband and I have just had a wonderful 4 night break with Dawn at Red Lodge. He went cycling into the beautiful moorland whilst I had an amazing two days making a mosaic. Dawn is a great host making you feel very welcome in her lovely home. She plans her courses meticulously so that every part runs smoothly and nothing is too much trouble. Dawn is an encouraging tutor providing unlimited support and advice whilst giving you space to develop your own creativity. There are lots of examples of her work around the house and books and ideas to inspire you. In addition to her creative skills Dawn is also a great cook so we were treated to a delicious home cooked lunch and cake during the course and the breakfasts were also lovely, especially the fresh fruit salad every morning. I am now the proud owner of my own mosaic and feel completely rested and spoilt. We both agreed it was the best B and B we have ever stayed at."

"I really wanted to try mosaics and found this course through the craft courses website. A friend joined me for the 3 nights B&B and 2 days of mosaic making. Dawn suggested we come with an idea of what we wanted to make but it was not vital - ideas were in abundance around her home. Fabulous accommodation - clean fresh space to relax when the day was complete. Onto the mosaic – full discussion, guidance and suggestions throughout, but equally time left for our own concentration and development. Everything provided included lunch on the two days. Thank you Dawn – what a stimulating and fruitful weekend."

"We stayed at the B&B which was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb and the location perfect. The workshop was very relaxed and friendly. We were guided all the way through the process with everything supplied and we all ended up with a piece of mosaic to be proud of. We sat outside in the lovely courtyard surrounded with flowers. The chocolate cake was lovely and Dawn was a great hostess."

"My friend and I joined Dawn for one of her mosaic courses recently and had a fabulous time. Dawn is very easy going and put us at ease straight away. She took us through the course step by step and during the breaks offered us homemade delights, homemade soup, bread and the most delicious cake!! We stayed over in her guest house, which was lovely and spotlessly clean. Had a wonderful breakfast and finished off our mosaics. I would recommend this course to anyone, even if they don't think theyrw very 'crafty', well worth the money and a great Christmas gift idea. Thank you Dawn, we will be back!"

"A wonderful break in a fabulous location complete with an inspiring mosaic workshop. Dawn welcomed us and settled us into our rooms in her beautiful home. The house is amazing and there are lots of examples of Dawn's own mosaics on display. From beautiful splashbacks in each en - suite, to mirrors, pictures and cabinets. We were able to choose which design we'd each like to mosaic and dive into a wonderful array of mosaic tiles in lots of colours and finishes. Dawn explained how to cut the tiles and create any shapes we wanted for our designs. It felt so relaxed and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A scrumptious home made spinach pie with salad and a crisp, cold glass of wine rounded off a busy morning. We'd also devoured a beautiful home-made lemon and fresh cream cake for elevenses! On the second day we grouted our mosaics and simply couldn't believe what we had achieved. The breakfast was gorgeous too with lots of local produce cooked to order and succulent home-made jam and marmalade (it's a bonus that Dawn used to be a chef) A highly recommended workshop at an unbelievable price. I can't wait to try and get back for another break! Thanks to Dawn (and Ollie), we arrived as strangers and left as friends."

Having never done any mosaics before we were amazed to come home with our completed project, and have been inspired to continue with more projects. Dawn is obviously very passionate about her hobby and there are numerous mosaics up around the B & B to inspire you. She is an amazing host, very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are immaculate and the breakfast was great. We were even provided with home cooked food for lunch and a glass of wine to end the day! What more could you ask for. If you are interested in making a mosaic I would highly recommend Dawn to get you started."
