Maker's bio

Sarah Hatton started willow weaving in 2008 and soon realised how much she loved the heritage craft. She set up her business, Hatton Willow, in 2012 which went from strength to strength leaving her career in IT to focus wholly on her business. She has woven baskets for the NATO summit held in Newport, and been involved in lots of very exciting projects. Sarah is now a qualified basket maker and grows 26 different varieties of willow, consolidating her love for the heritage craft of basket making

Susan Ballantine reviewed: Willow weaving courses in the beautiful setting of Nantgarw China Works Museum

"This course was excellent in all respects . The arrangements and directions and the venue were perfect. Sarah’s tuition was clear and her practical help and patience were exemplary. It was a long day, and fairly physical, but the group was small and good company. We all made fabulous baskets to take home at the end of the day. Perfect!"

Carolina Keast reviewed: Log basket course

"I really enjoyed it and found the class quite interesting. I always wanted to work with willow but never managed the courage to just get up and go . I am glad I did it. Also would like to know when there will be another course."
