Maker's bio

During training at Cordwainers, London College of Fashion in 2010 I learnt how to design, make and manufacture bags professionally. Following a varied career in Accessories design and development across many roles and international brands I set up Hands of Tym in 2016. The courses I offer are suitable for all, from experienced to total novice. Come along to learn something new, and design and make your own leather bag in a day.

"I received this yesterday and although I haven't had time to start the project , I just had to leave a review! Firstly it came beautifully packaged, each component wrapped individually and little handwritten notes with my name on that was a really lovely touch!!! And as for the leather, it is gorgeous!! Really top quality. I cannot wait to make it and use it!! Thank you so much!!!"

"I was given this course as a gift having expressed an interest in leather crafts. This belt making course was an excellent introduction. The tutor was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. She is also keen that you make your belt yourself and does not take over or interfere but advises first and assists only if you stray too far and then only to get you back on track. She also provides plenty of off cuts for you to practice and get a feel for each technique before putting a tool on the belt you are making. At the end of the day you walk away with a high quality bespoke leather belt- something to be considered when weighing up the cost. Leather goods and equipment are available to purchase should you so wish but no pressure selling is employed. A great half day course, a terrific tutor and superb introduction to leather crafting. "

Georgie was amazing, a great teacher with a great balance of being on hand to assist whilst encouraging me to pretty much make the whole item myself. I'm amazed at how brilliant my satchel looks.
