Maker's bio

Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely and 2 way street!

Ian Carter reviewed: Laser Craft - Beginner - 1 Day - One to One

"I attended the one day laser course having no previous knowledge and very limited computer skills. Rachel was fantastically easy going making me feel so welcome. Within no time I hade made a basic coaster, shortly after I had completed making my first wall clock. We then moved onto a number of little projects which interested me. Using the computer was explained very well, and I was very soon moving around the program tentatively by myself. I only wish I had a better memory as there was a lot of information to get my head around. I really enjoyed the day, Rachel you are a star, thank you so much. 5/5 XXXXX"

"Fantastic experience, it’s like magic watching a grey clay turn into solid silver jewellery. Rachel’s workshop is a treasure trove of amazing things. She was a great teacher, very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. My friend and I, who did the course as part of a ‘mums on the run weekend’, were so pleased with the things we made.
