Maker's bio

Simon and Ann Cooper started flaxland over 12 years ago in a quest to find out where linen came from. Now completely passionate about all things flax, we have been teaching flax processing for most of that time and have been advisors for TV and Universities as well as appearing on Wartime Farm and more recently Countryfile. We want participants to really enjoy their day with us and offer a very interactive day. We love flax and hope you will too.

Kate reviewed: Flax processing - plant to cloth - Gloucestershire

"I absolutely loved this course. From start to finish it was fascinating, friendly and very fun! I had a one-to-one session with Simon (and his adorable dog!). We went through the whole process of growing flax and producing linen, trying out almost every stage myself with plenty of tips along the way from Simon. I loved that the course was hands-on so I got a bit of an insight into the whole process. I asked millions of questions and Simon graciously answered all of them over endless cups of tea. I learned so much and walked away feeling inspired. If you're in two minds about taking the course, I say go for it!"

"Perfect way to learn about all aspects of processing flax. The atmosphere was relaxed and supportive with just the right amount of structure to the day. I really enjoyed meeting and chatting to the other participants and have certainly made some new friends. It was great value for money."

Angela Akehurst reviewed: Flax processing - plant to cloth - Gloucestershire

"I really enjoyed this course. Everything was explained very clearly, and there were lots of demonstrations and time to try it out for ourselves. From a starting point of having no knowledge at all, I learned a lot. And to cap it all there was a great lunch - including the best bread I have ever eaten!"
