An introductory course, suitable for complete beginners or those who are wanting to refresh their skills. The sessions will introduce students to a number of different clays, their suitability for different techniques, firing ranges and workability. Students will complete projects in slab building, coiling and throwing and will also have the opportunity to explore surface decoration using coloured slips. Come and experience the wonderful and the magical! Ceramics at its most awe inspiring you will spend a morning decorating pots to be offered to the fire. Once decorated you will be able to view your pots going through the firing process and then see them emerge from the fire with the glaze in its molten state. You will witness the transformation of colours and textures as each piece is placed in the reduction bin....
