Aaron Petersen is a second generation, fine art trained blacksmith, previously the blacksmith at the museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans. He also worked as a lecturer and is a qualified teacher. Courses are run at the family forge in St Clears, West Wales. We are within driving distance of a number of well known locations, including Tenby. Why not combine a course with your holiday? All the admin is done by Trudi, assisted by Caio, our laid back lurcher.
"I booked the one day course for my partner's birthday. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed and at ease. Aaron makes smithing look so easy, he truly is a master at the craft. Aaron was on hand to help (which I admit was quite frequently as I was far from a natural!) but despite this I had a great day and my partner still hasn’t stopped saying how great it was! We were able to make two items we can use for our log burner and two coat racks which go beautifully in our house. I cannot recommend the course and Aaron enough and we are looking forward to booking on again in the future."

"Nice friendly relaxed atmosphere. Groups are the perfect size, not too big or too small to chat and mingle but also get the help you need. Tuition was very well explained and done in simple steps. "I had an absolutely brilliant time on this course. Never done any craft courses or blacksmithing before. It was great to meet other people, chat about all sorts and learn how to make things with hot metal. Aaron makes it look easy but explains everything really well, provides help where needed and lets you get on with things if you don’t. We all made some great hooks and fire tools. I am absolutely chuffed to bits with my toasting fork which will be a lasting memory of both the course and my 50th birthday present from some great friends. 100% recommend this!! "
